Armand Rousseau Chambertin 1999
Tasting Note
'The colour is actually more evolved than I would have expected, a little deeper than the 2000 but not younger. The first elements of the forest floor are showing. Some oak is evident too and a feeling of extra weight. Evidently there was a difference between the two bottles: the other example was clearly younger and fresher, with a burst of very youthful concentrated cherry and bright raspberry fruit. Very clean, no edges from either acidity or tannin and a great future. Retasting later, the sample from the less good bottle has freshened and deepened and become more sociable. Scored for the better of the two bottles.'
