Baron Wines is a family-run Burgundy merchant based in London, established in 2010.
We trade mature vintages of top Burgundy - the very wines we adore drinking - selling to drinkers, collectors and other merchants across four continents. Wines from Domaines such as A. Rousseau, Comte Liger-Belair, DRC, G. Roumier, J.F. Mugnier, Leroy, d'Auvenay, J.F. Coche Dury, Leflaive & Roulot all feature prominently in our sales. We have become the 'Go-to Merchant' for wines that are no longer produced any more, wines such as Marius Gentaz, Jacky Truchot, Rene Engel & Clair Dau. Trading these 'extinct' Domaines has become the backbone of our business, much before the prices rocketed.
Having drank our fair share of these wines we are able to offer sound advice on which wines and vintages to buy, and importantly - which to avoid.
There are many back-vintages that offer much pleasure, often at lower price points than the top and sought after vintages.
In addition to mature vintages of top Burgundy, we also buy directly from a few excellent and good value Domaines in Burgundy, and an excellent grower Champagne - Marie Courtin - that's stylistically very similar to Burgundy. We aren't bound by previous buyers contracts and only buy from these Domaines as we love to drink them ourselves.
