Languedoc-Roussillon

The Languedoc-Roussillon region, stretching along the Mediterranean coast from Nîmes to the Spanish border, is France’s largest wine-producing area.

Since the introduction of the Vin de Pays classification in 1979, the region has seen a dramatic transformation.

Extensive replanting on better sites, a reduction in permitted yields, and a shift from the once-dominant Carignan grape to international varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon have greatly improved the quality of wines produced here.
