I am excited to offer a very rare collection of mature Rousseau.

All the wines are coming from one French private cellar - where they were stored in optimal conditions before arrival to the UK.

1 x Armand Rousseau Chambertin Clos de Beze 1971

£8,500 per bt In Bond

93/100 Allen Meadows:
'It had been a few years since I last had the pleasure of this wine's company and I'm happy to report that this bottle showed a little better. The elegant and pure nose shows off pronounced aromas of earth, tar, game and obvious sous bois aromas that serve as a stylish introduction to the seductive and velvety medium-bodied flavors that deliver excellent finishing richness and persistence with a subtle and attractive sweetness. This is a lovely wine though in 1971, it must be said that it's not in the same league as the Chambertin. Tasted several times with largely consistent notes.'

4 x Armand Rousseau Clos de la Roche 1971

£3,300 per bt In Bond

91/100 Allen Meadows:
'Bricked completely through. A highly expressive, ripe and perfumed nose reflects notes of sous-bois, spice, earth, leather and plenty of sauvage characters. The superly complex and rich medium-bodied flavors possess fine power and punch before culminating in a beautifully persistent finish that is beginning to slightly lean out. I very much like the complexity and sense of underlying tension of the mid-palate and while the balance on the finish isn't perfect this should continue to hold well for years to come. In sum, this is a lovely if not great vintage for the Rousseau CdlR.'

3 x Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St Jacques 1985

£3,350 per bt In Bond

97/100 Neal Martin:
'Many years ago I bought two or three bottles of the 1985 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos SaintJacques 1er Cru for a price that now begs belief. All of them were poured for two people: my wife and I. This last bottle is sublime. That same old spellbinding nose that envelops the senses, quite lush in keeping with the vintages, beautifully defined with traces of hung game creeping in. There is great tannic structure here, again, just a little gaminess towards the finish, but so elegant and refined that you instantly fall for its charms. '

3 x Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St Jacques 1990

£2,200 per bt In Bond

97/100 Neal Martin:
'The 1990 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St.-Jacques 1er Cru is magnificent. It displays stunning definition on the nose; there’s no messing about as it ladles out captivating raspberry, wild strawberry and light oyster shell notes. Though opulent and reflective of the growing season, the bouquet oozes class. The palate has a sorbet-like freshness and so much vitality after 31 years, building toward a perfectly symmetrical finish featuring vivacious morello cherries and raspberry coulis and hints of bay leaf. This is simply Rousseau in full flight. How do you follow that pair?'

1 x Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St Jacques 1991

£3,300 per bt In Bond

93/100 Allen Meadows:
'The '91 Clos St. Jacques has always been a bit of an enigma given how erratic its quality has been over multiple bottles and this has been true even from examples opened from the same case. The bottle in the tasting though with only mild bricking and a gorgeously spicy nose that displays perfumed aromas of sandalwood, Asian-style tea and plenty of secondary fruit aromas that include a hint of sous-bois. The delicious, refined and still attractively vibrant flavors exude evident minerality on the impressively complex and lingering finish. There is a touch of backend leanness that isn't presently a concern though it may become more prominent going forward. In sum, this is both classy and cool and a wine that is drinking beautifully at present. This is the good news. The less good news is that some of the bottles that I have had (including a few bottles from my storage), have shown notably less well and I would rate these bottles in the 87 to 88 point range.'

1 x Armand Rousseau Chambertin Clos de Beze 1993

£3,300 per bt In Bond

98/100 Jasper Morris:
'Beautiful pure elegant colour with a stylish nose, young but opening nicely. Middleweight plus, a little sweetness, still good acidity. This becomes absolutely glorious in the glass, especially the bouquet, still exceptionally youthful, retaining a trace of bitterness on the palate. Lively dancing fresh red fruit, goshtbis is good'
