Bryan Deleu St Joseph Intervalle 2022 (OCC/6)
Tasting Note
'The Saint-Joseph “Intervalle” bottling from Bryan Deleu is his old vine cuvée, with this wine made entirely of Serine vines planted in 1954 in the commune of Malleval. The wine includes thirty percent whole clusters and was raised for one year entirely in old demi-muids. It delivers a deep and classic aromatic constellation of cassis, black raspberries, pepper, sweet stem tones, grilled meats, black olive, stony minerality, woodsmoke, lavender and just a touch of cedar from the older demi-muids. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, focused and complex, with a beautiful core of fruit, superb mineral drive and grip, fine-grained tannins, lovely acids and a long, precise and impeccably balanced finish. This outstanding wine comes in at an even thirteen percent octane in 2022 and is built for the long haul. It will require six to eight years in the cellar to start to soften and drink properly, but it is going to be simply outstanding wine once it is ready to go!'
