Duroche Gevrey Chambertin Cuvee 26 2021 (OCC/6)
Tasting Note
'26 happens to be the number of the vat it fermented in! It is a blend of Etelois (destemmed), Estournelles St-Jacques (whole bunches) and Cazetiers (berry by berry). A rich purple, slightly deeper than most, but very lively. A stunningly complex nose, as if each protocol of winemaking was offering a different note. Certainly this comes across as fresh and mineral, while the fruit is also clearly adequately ripe. Then a glorious harmonious whole, ripe deep red fruit, a velvet texture threaded by useful pinpricks of mineral acidity, very long. Startlingly good. Two barrels made.'
