Francois Raveneau Chablis Les Clos 2015
Tasting Note
'Pale, bright yellow. Tighter and greener on the nose than the Valmur, with the aromas of lime, mint and talc coming across as less ripe. Broad, austere and energetic in the mouth; surprisingly mouthcoating considering how early it was harvested but with a hint of grapefruit zest bitterness making it difficult to taste today. Finishes brisk and energetic, with an impression of weightlessness. Holds out superb potential, but this bone-dry Clos will need serious cellaring to express itself fully. Production here was just 20 hectoliters per hectare owing to the hail losses, and the Raveneaus may assemble this cuvée a little earlier than usual.'
