Hubert Lignier Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Combottes 1998
Tasting Note
90-93/100 Stephen Tanzer (Apr 2001)
Ruby-red. Pungently perfumed nose dominated by bitter cherry and spice. Not as thick or expressive in the mouth as the Chambolle Baudes but impressively intense, vibrant and long, with firm acids and a solid minerally underpinning. A rich wine that carrying no excess weight. Finishes with very fine tannins and terrific grip.
