'The 1990 di Gresy Barbarescos possess a deeper richness and higher alcohol than the 1989s. They appear to have been made from even riper, more concentrated fruit than the superb 1989s. The 1990 Martinenga exhibits a stunningly pure nose of black-cherries, vanillin, and spices, lovely fruit and ripeness, medium to full body, and a soft, unctuously-textured palate. It should drink well for 10-15 years.'
