97/100 John Gilman:'With the addition of another parcel of Chambertin that arrived with the 2009 vintage (sufficient to provide another five piéces to the estate’s production), Domaine Rousseau now owns fully 2.55 hectares of vines in this magical grand cru, and I cannot think of better hands to have this much Chambertin in! The 2011 is utterly brilliant, soaring from the glass in a stunning blend of red plums, cherries, blood orange, cocoa powder, grilled meats, a gloriously complex base of soil and a suave framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, very pure and sappy at the core, with stunning transparency, great structural elegance, very suave tannins and superb length and grip on the focused and still very young finish. This is really not far off the magical quality of the 2010!'

Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St Jacques 2011
£750 per bt In Bond
94+/100 Stephen Tanzer:'Good bright, dark red with ruby highlights. Brilliantly perfumed nose oers red cherry, red raspberry, rose petal and crushed rock; a noble essence of Burgundy. Dense packed and chewy with extract but like a live wire in the mouth, with harmonious acidity giving outstanding precision and cut to the sweet red fruit, oral and mineral avors. Most impressive today on the mounting peacock's tail of a nish, which features noble, ne-grained tannins and outstanding lingering perfume. Quite primary today but already demonstrates great character.'

3 x Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin 2012
£275 per bt In Bond
90+/100 John Gilman:'As readers are already quite aware, I have been a fan of this supremely elegant Gevrey villages bottling for many, many years, but the 2012 is extra special! The excellent nose shows off the purity and sappiness of this vintage to fine effect, wafting from the glass in a beautifully perfumed blend of red and black cherries, red plums, cocoa, a beautiful base of dark, Gevrey soil tones, woodsmoke and rose petals. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very sappy this year, with striking transparency, fine-grained tannins and outstanding focus and grip on the very soil-driven finish. This is beautifully elegant and has more mid-palate stuffing that customary- a very good combination I might add!'

2 x Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St Jacques 2012
£900 per bt In Bond
96/100 John Gilman:'The 2012 Clos St. Jacques chez Rousseau is another simply brilliant wine, and I was starting to get a bit worried, as I was already beginning to run out of numbers and I still had the Clos de Bèze and Chambertin to go! In any case, the 2012 Clos St. Jacques is a stellar example of the vintage, wafting from the glass in a stunning and very flamboyant nose of red plums, red and black cherries, cocoa, hints of the grilled meats to come, a brilliantly complex base of soil tones, exotic spices and vanillin oak. I think this wine was raised in sixty percent new wood this year, but the depth of fruit has positively eaten up the impression of new oak, and if you told me it was raised in twenty percent new oak, I would think that it was probably just about right! On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and stunningly suave on the attack, with a great core of sappy fruit, a very refined sense of soil, fine-grained tannins, outstanding focus and grip and a very, very long, unrepentantly elegant and velvety finish. The synthesis here of soil and gloriously sappy fruit is remarkable.'

1 x Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St Jacques 2013
£750 per bt In bond
95+/100 Stephen Tanzer:'Good deep red. Much less reduced on the nose than Ruchottes, oering captivating, highpitched perfume of raspberry, rose petal, blood orange and crushed stone. On the palate, the tangy raspberry, red cherry and mineral avors show a penetrating character and superb lift without any weightiness or hardness. Finishes with very ne-grained tannins and mounting oral perfume. This brisk, cool, aristocratic wine is built for a graceful evolution in bottle.'

3 x Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St Jacques 2014
£800 per bt In Bond
97/100 Neal Martin:'Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, Rousseau's 2014 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint Jacques has a very refined and delineated bouquet with prudent use of new oak here that is seamlessly integrated and allows the vibrant red fruit to flourish. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity, very good tension and a welcome dash of spice toward the finish that conveys genuine substance and class. The aftertaste is incredibly long—the mouth tingling with residual spiciness long after the wine has departed. This is stunning and, dare I suggest, equal to Rousseau's Chambertin and Clos de Bèze.'

3 x Armand Rousseau Gevrey Chambertin 2016
£275 per bt In Bond
91+/100 William Kelley:'Tasted from bottle, Rousseau's 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Village opens in the glass with a youthfully reserved bouquet of wild berry fruit, plums, peonies and orange rind mingled with suggestions of forest floor and cedar. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, supple and sapid, with lively acids, good depth at the core and fine structuring tannins that subtly assert themselves on the finish. Even this communal bottling—which contains declassified premier cru fruit—is quite introverted at this stage, and readers with bottles in their cellars are advised to forget them for the better part of a decade.

£40 per bt In Bond
No tasting notes.

1 x Bizot Vosne Romanee 1er Cru 2007
£1,200 per bt In Bond
90-92/100 Allen Meadows:'Not surprisingly, this is notably more elegant and more complex as well with ample spice notes to accompany the red and black pinot fruit aromas nuances by touches of earth and a smoky hint that gives way to round and rich medium weight plus flavors that do not lack for precision or verve on the persistent and relatively powerful finish. There is good mid-palate fat that renders the moderately firm tannins almost invisible at present.'

1 x Chopin-Groffier Clos Vougeot 1996
£450 per bt In Bond
Final vintage of Daniel Chopin
'The expressive nose still has vestiges of primary fruit left though most of the aromatic profile has gone secondary with ample earth and light spice notes. The middle weight flavors are delicious and largely, if not completely, resolved. What is of most importance however given the many overly acidic '96s is that the finish is balanced, clean, crisp and focused. To be sure, this is a vibrant wine but has none of the dryness that many less successful '96s display. For my taste, this has arrived at the front edge of its apogee though it should be capable of holding here for at least another decade and perhaps two.'

1 x Claude Dugat Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru 1995
£150 per bt In Bond
92/100 Stephen Tanzer:'Excellent deep ruby-red. Perfumed nose combines red- and blackcurrants, smoky oak, flowers and an earthy impression of terroir. Velvety and thick in the mouth, with terrific depth of flavor. Very expressive already. Dense but light on its feet. Fabulous expanding finish features chewy, ripe tannins. Real grand cru size and fullness.'

3 x Claude Dugat Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru 2000
£150 per bt In Bond
92/100 Stephen Tanzer:'Bright ruby-red. Sexy aromas of wild dark berries, violet, mocha and Christmas spices. Sweet, supple, broad and deep, with lovely tangy dark fruit avors. Finishes very long and ripely tannic'

12 x Domaine Leroy Vosne Romanee Les Genaivrieres 2015
£45,000 per case of 12 bt in OWC In Bond
92+/100 William Kelley:'Aromas of rich berry fruit, grilled game bird, spices and rose petals introduce Leroy's 2015 Vosne-Romanée Aux Genaivrières, a full-bodied, broad and enveloping wine with a rich core of fruit, ripe acids and powdery tannins. Deep and concentrated, this Vosne-Romanée is more overtly sun-kissed than the Chambolle-Musigny Les Fremières drunk several weeks later, yet the balance is impeccable for the long haul.'

6 x DRC La Tache 2015
£30,000 per case of 6 bt in OWC In Bond (Wilson Daniels)
98/100 Allen Meadows:'As is often the case in its youth, this easily possesses the most aromatic breadth of any wine in the range with an utterly kaleidoscopic nose that incorporates notes of Asian spice box elements, rose petal, lavender, lilac, orange pekoe tea and sandalwood. There is superb richness to the powerfully constituted flavors that possess outstanding delineation and intensity while displaying perhaps even more minerality than usual, all wrapped in a mildly warm finish that slowly fans out as it sits on the palate. This is one classy wine that manages to do what only the greatest of burgundies can, which is to wow you with its power without weight mouth palate impression. And if all of this weren't enough, the refinement and poise here are nothing short of riveting. While I am very careful when it comes to proclaiming that such and such a vintage of La Tâche will go down as one of the all-time greats, the 2015 version appears to have the potential to be one of them. Time will of course be the final arbiter but the underlying material is so good it's difficult to be less than super-enthusiastic.'

6 x DRC Richebourg 2015
£22,500 per case of 6 bt in OWC In Bond (Wilson Daniels)
97/100 Allen Meadows:'Subtle wood spice, violet, lavender, cassis, plum, tea and warm earth aromas combine to introduce incredibly rich, full-bodied, gorgeously complex and mouth coating flavors that possess near-perfect balance on the overtly powerful, sappy and explosively persistent mineral-driven finish. This is very firmly structured yet two important aspects render this entirely civilized: 1) the tannins are unusually fine-grained, and 2) there is so much dry extract present on the mid-palate that the backend does not possess its usual level of youthful austerity. Like the Romanée St. Vivant, this is textbook Riche built to last for decades'

1 x Dujac Echezeaux 1982
£1,200 per bt In Bond

3 x Dujac Charmes Chambertin 2019
£350 per bt In Bond
95-97/100 Neal Martin:'The 2019 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has an airy and generous bouquet with lifted black fruit, hoisin and light roasted chestnut aromas, all well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a beautiful line of acidity, svelte and harmonious with a slightly grainy-textured finish. I adore the discrete crescendo in this Grand Cru and the unimposing but long aftertaste. "It’s been growing in stature over the last 10 to 15 years," remarked Alex Seysses. Proof of that is evident by tasting this superb Charmes-Chambertin.'

12 x Emmanuel Rouget Vosne Romanee 1er Cru Cros Parantoux 1996
£24,000 per case of 12 bt in Original Case In Bond
94/100 Allen Meadows:'Earthy, exceptionally ripe and slightly somber on the nose with aromas that are just now beginning their transition from being completely primary to the first hints of secondary fruit nuances. The flavors are also ever-so-slightly austere but the intensity and purity are notable with first class elegance, superb detail and a driving, intense and relatively powerful finish. Extremely impressive and this should age for years. Tasted on multiple occasions with consistent notes.'

6 x Fourrier Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Combe Aux Moines VV 2017
£780 per case of 6 bt in Original Case In Bond
91-94/100 Allen Meadows:'A brooding nose consists of essence of plum and black cherry scents that are cut with notes of warm earth and the sauvage. The rich, medium-bodied and reasonably concentrated flavors possess good power and muscle on the mouth coating and serious finale. This well made and youthfully austere effort will need at least 5 to 7 years first and potentially reward up to 15.'

6 x Fourrier Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Goulots 2017
£750 per case of 6 bt in Original Case In Bond
92-94/100 Jasper Morris:'From 0.34ha planted in 1966. Fractionally lighter red purple. Tenser fresher nose, more raspberry, the fruit is still ripe enough but with a leaner edge and good biting intensity: this wine is more stylish than striking, given the quality of the range as a whole.'

1 x Fourrier Griotte Chambertin 2017
£480 per bt In Bond
94-97/100 Jasper Morris:'From 0.26ha planted in 1928. Medium deep red purple, a little touch of sweet oak showing on the nose, emphasising the succulence of the fruit. Richer fruit here, over and above the Clos St Jacques, offering rich raspberry fruit with good acidity. Does it have quite as much complexity as the Clos St Jacques?'

2 x Fourrier Gevrey Chambertin aux Echezeaux 2018
£90 per bt In Bond
92-94/100 Jasper Morris:'From vines planted in 1930. Fine bright purple, richly perfumed nose, ripe but not tottering, plump deep raspberry, very succulent, mouth-filling dark juice, correct tannins behind and exceptional length.'

2 x Fourrier Gevrey Chambertin aux Echezeaux 2019
£100 per bt In Bond
91-94/100 Jasper Morris:'Graceful mid purple with a supple and elegant dark red fruit. A certain nobility to this, and a little deeper riper and darker fruit than the village blend. Very attractive fruit including some blackberry. Maybe too dark for some?'

2 x Fourrier Gevrey Chambertin aux Echezeaux 2020
£100 per bt In Bond
92-94/100 Jasper Morris:'Clean clear crimson purple. Plumper cherry fruit but still with characteristic purity and finesse. The cherries are ripe but not overdone. Rather lovely in the mouth, some more floral aspects, perfumed and very persistent. Makes one salivate. Very long.'

1 x Georges Roumier Bonnes Mares 2010
£1,350 per bt Duty Paid
98/100 John Gilman:'If there has even been a greater young vintage of Roumier Bonnes-Mares during Christophe’s tenure than the 2010 version, then I have not tasted it! The Roumier Bonnes-Mares is comprised of sixty percent terres blanches and forty percent terres rouges, which seems to really play up the elegance and floral side of the 2010 vintage. The stunning nose offers up a complex and sappy mélange of red and black cherries, red plums, cocoa, woodsmoke, pungent roses and violets, a brilliant base of soil and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and full-bodied, with laser-like focus, haunting transparency, a rock solid and sappy core of fruit, and brilliant balance on the seamless, ripely tannic, endless and magically refined finish. A stunning, stunning bottle of young Bonnes-Mares.'

1 x Georges Roumier Bonnes Mares 2011
£750 per bt In Bond
96/100 John Gilman:'After tasting the two constituent components (the terres rouges and terres blanches sections of the vineyard), it is very easy to appreciate that the blended Bonnes-Mares is superior to either component on its own, and the 2011 is going to be a stunning wine! The glorious and youthful nose offers up a magical mélange of red and black cherries, red plums, cocoa, brilliant minerality, woodsmoke, gamebirds, mustard seed and a delicate framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and utterly complete, with a rock solid core of sappy fruit, stunning soil inflection, ripe tannins and great focus and grip on the very long, suave and still quite primary finish. A great wine.'

12 x Hubert Lignier Clos de la Roche 1988
£9,600 per case of 12 bt in Original Case In Bond
96/100 Robert M. Parker Jr:'Lignier's 1988 Clos de la Roche, of which there are 300 cases for the world, is very good. It is not quite as black/ruby in color as the Charmes-Chambertin, but it is awesomely concentrated with a fabulous, highly scented perfume of black fruits, exotic spices, and toasty new oak. In the mouth, the layers of fruit are astounding, and the finish lasts for at least two minutes. Lignier has made some spectacular wines in 1988. None of the wines are fined or filtered, and as a result, they will throw a heavy sediment in 2-3 years time.'

1 x Hudelot Noellat Romanee St Vivant 2010 Jeroboam
£2,500 per jero in OWC Duty Paid (Slighty damaged wax capsule)
96+/100 John Gilman:'The 2010 Romanée-St.-Vivant from Hudelot-Noëllat is properly more reserved than the Malconsorts, but in terms of complexity and purity, these two wines are cut very much from the same cloth in this vintage. The stunning nose soars from the glass in a beautiful blend of sappy red and black cherries, raspberries, a touch of blood orange, a great base of soil tones, a bit of duck and a judicious framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with a sappy core, ripe tannins and a very, very long, reserved and transparent finish. This is pure magic.'

1 x Hudelot Noellat Romanee St Vivant 2018 Jeroboam
£2,000 per jero in OWC In Bond (Damaged wax capsule)
96-99/100 Jasper Morris:'Imperial purple robe, the bouquet has beautifully succulent yet also vibrant dark fruit, a feeling of nobility, the vineyard triumphing over any possible excess of the vintage, There is some blacker fruit on the palate but it is still absolutely vibrant. To say glossy doesn’t do it justice. Very long refined finish. Bravo'

4 x Hudelot Noellat Romanee St Vivant 2021 magnums
£1,350 per mag in OWC In Bond - (Next market price £2,180 / mag)
97/100 John Gilman:'The 2021 Romanée-St.-Vivant from Monsieur van Canneyt is simply stunning. The wine delivers a perfumed aromatic constellation of red and black raspberries, a touch of red plum, Vosne spices, a gorgeous base of soil, duck, woodsmoke and cedary oak. On the palate the wine is precise, full-bodied and reserved in personality today (this and the Richebourg were racked one week prior to my visit), with a beautiful core of fruit, lovely mineral undertow, suave, buried tannins and a long, complex and seamlessly balanced finish. Great wine.'

3 x Jean-Marc Millot Echezeaux du Dessus Cuvee 1949 2019 magnums
£500 per mag in OWC In Bond
95-97/100 Jasper Morris:'From five rows of Echezeaux du Dessus, planted in 1949, enough to make a couple of barrels. Rich deep purple, the bouquet begins with a heady reduction which very rapidly cleans up. This is really significantly more sumptuous than the regular Echezeaux, with an extraordinary finish. Though the fruit is a mite darker, more importantly it is much more concentrated. I am ambivalent about micro super-cuvées but this one works, and is justified, because not too much has been taken out of the regular bottling.'

1 x Joseph Drouhin Musigny 2006
£450 per bt In Bond
93-95/100 John Gilman:'The 2006 Musigny was also awaiting bottling at the time of my visit, but the potential here was pretty clear, despite the wine being shown under less than ideal circumstances. The bouquet offers up notes of black cherries, plums, vinesmoke, a lovely base of complex Musigny soil tones, a touch of dark chocolate and a floral topnote. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, long and tangy, with fine mid-palate depth, and lovely length, grip and precision on the backend. Not surprisingly, the 2006 Drouhin Musigny will be excellent.'

6 x Joseph Drouhin Musigny 2014
£3,000 per case of 6 bt in OWC In Bond
94-97/100 John Gilman:'Like the Grands Echézeaux, the 2014 Drouhin Musigny had been bottled in mid-August and was still grumpy from the mise. The wine was quite compact on the palate after the bottling, but I am sure this is just a normal stage and the wine should bounce back nicely with a bit more distance out from the bottling. Today, the nose is the more expressive element of the wine, offering up a very refined constellation of red and black cherries, red plums, cocoa, gamebird, mustard seed, woodsmoke, a gorgeous base of soil and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, tangy and quite soil-driven, with a fine core, ripe tannins and a long, promising finish. This should prove to be very suave and very, very elegant when it is ready, but it was not particularly happy about being opened up in mid-November!'

1 x Marquis d'Angerville Volnay 1er Cru Champans 1999
£125 per bt In Bond
94/100 Stephen Tanzer:'Deep red with ruby highlights, but Guillaume d'Angerville noted that this premier cru is typically softly extracted and light in color. Compelling, vibrant aromas of blueberry pastille, violet, licorice and spicecake. Incredibly primary and sweet, with its density leavened by harmonious acidity. Pliant dark berry flavors are complicated by hints of flowers and spices. This very pure wine has to be one of the most youthful 1999s I tasted this winter. Finishes with utterly suave tannins and outstanding length. This infant is just beginning to open and should enjoy a long plateau of maturity. D'Angerville described 1999 as "a magical vintage," noting that the yield here was at least 40 hectoliters per hectare. His father Jacques actually held back 4,000 bottles of wine in '99 but Guillaume has released most of these bottles by now to loyal clients of the domain.'

£1,800 per case of 3 bt in OWC In Bond
94-98/100 Jasper Morris:'The colour is very similar to the regular in pink-red-purple register. Right from the first sniff the bouquet shows a difference, without the blood orange notes but with more of a fresh perfumed and floral raspberry character. A little less velvety, a little more structured, the tannins a bit more evident. A certain austerity perhaps from the proximity to La Tâche. An interesting insight from Nicole: this cuvée always behaves the same in both vinification and in style, whereas the regular Grande Rue can be up one minute and down the next and can be altogether more awkward to vinify. Each year, though, I find the same stylistic differences between the two cuvées, and the same inability to choose one over the other.'

90/100 Robert M. Parker Jr:'The outstanding 1991 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes exhibits a huge bouquet of raspberries and flowers. Splendidly rich and medium to full-bodied, with exceptional elegance and richness, this brilliant wine should drink well for at least a decade.'

1 x Pousse d'Or Volnay 1er Cru Clos des 60 Ouvrees 1985
£1,500 per bt In Bond
94/100 John Gilman:'Pousse d’Or’s 1985s are some of the high water marks in the Cote de Beaune in this vintage, and they have been stunning to drink for well over a decade. The 60 Ouvrees remains stunning, delivering a potpourri of berries, plums, woodsmoke, sous bois, minerals and cedary wood. On the palate the wine is deep, fullish and tangy, with stunning acidity for this rather soft vintage. The finish is long, complex and palate-staining, offering up wonderful flavors in a snappy, brilliant finish. This is as compelling an argument as any why Volnay is one of the superstar villages of the Cote d’Or. Great juice with years and years of life ahead of it.'

90/100 Allen Meadows:Elegant yet quite earthy with medium-bodied, round, rich, beautifully complex flavors that are almost robust in character and offer plenty of finishing intensity and persistence. This is one of the rare '89s that is still firm though by no means closed and I would suggest waiting until 2005 or so as it should smooth out a bit. This is an excellent wine.

94+/100 John Gilman:'The 1988 Vaucrains from Domaine Robert Chevillon continues to blossom beautifully with further bottle age, and this example was drinking with great style and breed. The deep and complex nose offers up a very classy blend of black cherries, red plums, venison, woodsmoke, a touch of nutskin, fresh herb tones, a marvelously complex base of soil tones and a touch of balsam bough in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and now quite sappy at the core, with excellent focus and grip, still a bit of backend tannin to resolve and outstanding length and grip on the very, very transparent and complex finish. A terrific 1988 that is only going to get better with further bottle age, but which is drinking very well indeed at the present time.'

1 x Arnaud Ente Bourgogne Blanc 2015
£180 per bt In Bond
90/100 John Gilman:'Arnaud Ente’s 2015 Bourgogne Blanc is also very stylish, with an overtly Puligny-like personality this year (two-thirds of these grapes hail from Bourgogne-ranked parcels in Puligny-Montrachet, the other third from parcels in near the Clos des Ormes vineyard in Meursault), offering up a lovely bouquet of apple, white peach, chalky soil tones, white flowers and a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and nicely round on the attack, with vibrant acids, lovely focus and grip, a good core and a long, suave finish. This is wide open in personality right out of the blocks, but has fine supporting acidity and will not need to be consumed in the flash of an eye.'

6 x Bachelet Monnot Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts 2020

93-95/100 Neal Martin:'The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts 1er Cru has a crisp, precise, gunint-tinged bouquet that is beautifully dened and focused. The palate is very well balanced with a wonderful line of acidity. The judicious new oak (under 20%) just lends a little weight toward the nish. This is all about the tension and energy. A ridiculously good Les Referts from Domaine Bachelet Monnot.'

2 x Benoit Ente Puligny Montrachet 2020
£100 per bt In Bond
90-92/100 Allen Meadows:'A ripe but cool nose features pure aromas of acacia, apple, pear and a whiff of citrus rind. There is excellent volume to the less powerful but more refined middle weight flavors that possess a really lovely texture on the sneaky long, balanced and complex finale. This is an excellent Puligny villages and worth considering.'

3 x Benoit Ente Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Truffiere 2020
£200 per bt In Bond
95/100 William Kelley:'Unwinding in the glass with aromas of white peach, pear, dried white flowers, nutmeg and toasty reduction, the 2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Truffière is medium to full-bodied, satiny and concentrated, with a deep, layered core, racy acids and a long, penetrating finish. Pure and chiseled, it's a brilliant white Burgundy from Benoit Ente.'

3 x Benoit Ente Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru En la Richarde 2020
£200 per bt In Bond
91-94/100 Allen Meadows:'Smoky aromas include those of lemon-lime, white fleshed fruit and a plenitude of floral elements. There is even better volume to the concentrated and mineral-driven larger-scaled flavors that flash excellent power on the sappy yet fine bitter lemon-inflected finish. This is also really quite lovely and a wine that should amply repay a decade plus of keeping, perhaps even a bit more as the balance is impeccable.'

6 x Bernard Moreau Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets 2018
£750 per case of 6 bt in Original Case In Bond
95-98/100 Jasper Morris:'Lovely pale lemon colour, but it is the bouquet that really draws attention, properly noble, with a crunchy mineral character. Then the concentration on the palate is mindboggling and the finish is keeping me happy quite a while! A great vineyard being interpreted by a winemaker on top of his game.'

1 x Boisson Vadot Meursault 1er Cru Genevrieres 2007
£250 per bt In Bond
92/100 Stephen Tanzer:'Gold-tinged yellow. Deeper-pitched than the Chevalieres, showing a leesy, lactic quality to the aromas of lime, fresh apricot, oatmeal and stone. Densely packed and rich, with firm but harmonious acidity framing the flavors of peach, spice and acacia flower. Very sexy, silky, generous wine, showing the opulent side of 2007 but with grip. Expands in the middle and saturates the palate on the vibrating finish.'

1 x Boisson Vadot Meursault 1er Cru Genevrieres 2009
£300 per bt In Bond
94+/100 John Gilman:'The 2009 Boisson-Vadot Genevrières is a brilliant example of this great terroir. The deep and stunning nose offers up a youthful blend of apple, pear, lime, buttered almonds, a touch of crème patissière, great underlying minerality and a faint whiff of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and utterly refined, with great intensity of flavor, superb focus, zesty acidity, and stunning cut and grip on the brilliantly long and youthful finish. This is one 2009 premier cru that really will demand a bit of cellaring to show all of its layers of maturity, and should prove to be extremely long-lived if lucky enough to avoid premox issues.'

2 x Boisson Vadot (Anne Boisson) Meursault 1er Cru Genevrieres 2018
£300 per bt In Bond
94/100 William Kelley:'The 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières is showing very well, bursting with aromas of orange oil, pear, pastry cream and honeycomb. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and textural, it's layered and enveloping, with a beautifully seamless, complete profile, concluding with a penetrating finish. Only two barrels were produced, so finding any will be a challenge.'

2 x Coche-Dury Meursault 2012
£750 per bt In Bond
91/100 Allen Meadows:Relatively prominent notes of match stick all but dominate the white and yellow orchard fruit aromas that are subtly laced with floral, citrus and hazelnut nuances. There is excellent volume and very good concentration to the vibrant and extract-rich medium weight flavors that possess fine depth on the balanced and highly persistent citrus-inflected finish that displays a deft application of wood as well as ample minerality. This is a terrific villages that is still very much on the way up and while at 6 years of age it could certainly be enjoyed now, for my taste I would allow it to continue to slumber for another 4 to 6 years first. Tasted several times recently with consistent notes.

1 x Coche-Dury Meursault 1er Cru Genevrieres 2015
£1,750 per bt In Bond
97/100 Willam Kelley:'This was my first encounter with Coche-Dury's 2015 Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrières, a wine that hails from one of the domaine's smallest parcels and which is often among the riper, more textural wines in the portfolio. Bursting from the glass with an expressive bouquet of citrus oil, Anjou pear, green apple, sesame oil, hazelnuts and a classy framing of new oak, the wine is medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with a deep and multidimensional core, racy acids and a long, elegantly toasty finish. While age will bring more integration and complexity, I confess that even at this early stage, the wine is so compelling that I finished my glass with no difficulty.'

2 x Coche-Dury Puligny Montrachet Enseigneres 2015
£750 per bt In Bond
91/100 Allen Meadows:'Aromas of white orchard fruit, grapefruit and floral serve as an elegant introduction to the suave and super-rich middle weight plus flavors that culminate in a sneaky long, bone dry and citrus finale. This is a big Puligny villages that is less mineral-driven but offers excellent depth.'

3 x Coche-Dury Meursault 1er Cru Genevrieres 2018
£1,500 per bt In Bond (Next market price £1,900+ / bt)
94/100 Jasper Morris:'Fine light lemon, this is beautifully perfumed, with that little extra sweetness over and above the juniper, or perhaps more verbena, which can be a characteristic of Genevrières. The 2018 is notably spicy with the purest of white fruit and considerable length.'

2 x Comtes Lafon Meursault 1er Cru Boucheres 2021
£220 per bt In Bond
93-95/100 Neal Martin:'The 2021 Meursault Boucheres 1er Cru was reduced to two barrels that did not have to be barreled down to the second-year cellar, unlike others. Precise and quite understated on the nose, this offers superb tension with hints of hazelnut and quince. The palate is very well balanced with a lovely edginess and fine depth, yet there is a razor-sharp focus here with a lip-smacking salinity on the finish. This is a live wire Meursault.'

2 x Dauvissat Chablis Les Clos 2004
£200 per bt In Bond
96/100 Allen Meadows:'The expressive nose of still mostly primary green fruit and white flowers evidences only the first hints of secondary character. Similarly, the wonderfully refined flavors flesh good power, muscle, sap, complexity, typicity, concentration and an almost palpable sense of stoniness on the attractively dry and highly persistent finale. In sum, this is a stunner of a wine that to my taste is very much still on the way up and while it certainly could be enjoyed now I would be inclined to allow it at least another 3 to 5 years of cellar time first. In a word, brilliant!'

12 x Dauvissat Chablis Les Preuses 2018
£2,100 per case of 12 bt In Bond
95/100 William Kelley:'The 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses has turned out brilliantly, delivering notes of orange oil, crisp orchard fruit, iodine, white flowers and oyster shell, followed by a full-bodied, ample and enveloping palate that's racy and saline, concluding with a long, electric finish. This is rather open for a young Dauvissat Preuses; and while it should, all things being equal, enjoy a long life, it will be less of a crime than usual to open a bottle or two young.'

1 x Domaine Leflaive Chevalier Montrachet 1990
£1,500 per bt In Bond
98/100 William Kelley:'While I entertained higher expectations of the 1989, it was in fact the 1990 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru that emerged as the wine of the tasting, blossoming in the glass with a complex bouquet of confit lemon, orange rind, dried white flowers, pastry cream, warm bread and vanilla pod. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, satiny textured and enveloping, with broad shoulders, a lively spine of acidity and superb amplitude and concentration, concluding with a long, penetrating finish. Powerful and strikingly complete, this is a Chevalier that more than nods to Montrachet in style. But by the numbers alone, it was cropped at 57 hectoliters per hectare and finished up with 14.1% alcohol and pH 3.23. This is by some margin the finest bottle of Leflaive's 1990 Chevalier-Montrachet that I've encountered.'

6 x Fontaine Gagnard Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanee 2017
£660 per case of 6 bt in Original Case In Bond
92-95/100 Stephen Tanzer:'A note of herbal reduction to the aromas and flavors of citrus zest, white flowers and rock. A broad, dry, large-scaled premier cru that stands out in the early going for its uncanny volume and silkiness. An outstanding rocky, floral example of its vineyard but still a baby and in need of longer élevage. Finishes with palate-dusting solidity and notes of pineapple and mint. This slow-ripening vineyard always produces wine with relatively low pH and higher acidity, like the Vergers, according to Céline Fontaine.'

6 x Fontaine Gagnard Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanee 2018
£570 per case of 6 bt in Original Case In Bond
93/100 William Kelley:'Wafting from the glass with aromas of pear, white flowers, beeswax and a light touch of reduction that might be derived from this sample bottle's Diam closure, the 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanée is medium to full-bodied, layered and muscular. Underpinned by lively acids, this is the most complete and concentrated premier cru in the range this year.'

3 x Fontaine Gagnard Batard Montrachet 2021
£750 per case of 3 bt in Original Case In Bond
97/100 John Gilman:'The 2021 Bâtard-Montrachet from Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard is equally stunning. The complex nose delivers scents of apple, pear, orange zest, spring flowers, a gorgeous base of limestone minerality, almond and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is precise, pure and very elegant for young Bâtard, with a rock solid core of fruit, great soil signature, snappy acids and simply stunning backend mineral drive on the long, complex and seamlessly balanced finish. A stunning young Bâtard-Montrachet.'

1 x Francois Raveneau Chablis Blanchot 2005
£400 per bt In Bond
94/100 John Gilman:'The 2005 Blanchots is less closed down right now than the Montée de Tonnerre, but at the same time offers greater depth and length on the palate. The bouquet is lovely, as it offers up notes of apples, yellow fruit, beeswax, chalky soil complexity, spring flowers and just a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, long and balanced, with great focus and balance, and utterly refined personality, and fine length on the zesty finish. This is balanced enough to cruise along for a very long time, but it is also sufficiently accessible to be in danger of drinking on the early side if it is not buried deep.'

2 x Francois Raveneau Chablis Blanchot 2011
£400 per bt In Bond (Slightly damaged capsule)
94+/100 John Gilman:'The 2011 Raveneau Blanchots was also a touch reduced in November, but like the Montée de Tonnerre, with a bit of swirling in the glass, this wine roared to life. This very deep and broad-shouldered wine offers up a lovely bouquet of apple, pear, lemon blossoms, chalky soil tones, beeswax and a touch of licorice in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and very primary, with a rock solid core of fruit, outstanding focus and grip and a very, very long, racy and impeccably balanced finish. What a great bottle of Blanchots this will be with a few years of cellaring!'

1 x Francois Raveneau Chablis Les Clos 2012
£900 per bt In Bond
98/100 John Gilman:'The 2012 Raveneau Clos is a brilliant wine in the making. The very young and very magical nose wafts from the glass in a mix of pink grapefruit, tart orange, kaleidoscopic minerality, flint, a potpourri of citrus zest, hints of the anise to come and plenty of top end smokiness. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and absolutely rock solid at the core, with great cut and focus, brisk acids, stunning mineral complexity and drive and a very, very long, youthful and dancing finish. A brilliant wine in the making.'

1 x Francois Raveneau Chablis Blanchot 2014
£600 per bt In Bond
97/100 Neal Martin:'The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Blanchots is a contender for Domaine Raveneau's finest release in this great year for Chablis. It has an extremely well defined, marine-influenced bouquet that delivers captivating intensity. This is a Chablis that looks you straight between the eyes. The palate displays exquisite balance with razor-sharp acidity. It feels so lively and vivacious, with a wonderful sense of harmony and poise towards the finish. This is sophisticated and classy, but it will need 4-6 years to really settle into its groove. You cannot bestow too many superlatives here.'

1 x Pierre Morey Meursault 1er Cru Perrieres 2004
£200 per bt In Bond
89-92/100 Allen Meadows:'This too is heavily reduced on the nose yet the beautifully textured flavors are rich, full and also quite serious, indeed almost brooding in this case with an even riper yet just as impeccably balanced with a greater emphasis on the underlying minerality. This will age well and it too is fashioned in an old school style.'

1 x Pierre Yves Colin Morey Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatieres 2009
£225 per bt In Bond
92-94/100 Allen Meadows:'As might be reasonably expected, this is more aromatically elegant with an extract of stone, citrus rind and dried rose petal nose. The detailed, intense and driving middle weight flavors possess outstanding intensity on the palate staining, dry and attractively clean finish. I very much like the sense of energy and impeccable balance.'

1 x Ramonet Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Ruchottes 2018 magnum
£500 per mag In Bond
93/100 Allen Meadows:'Smoky and nicely fresh aromas speak mainly of petrol, citrus blossom, spice and a discreet hint of wood influence. There is fine energy to the fluid, round and delicious middle weight flavors that possess average density but excellent punch and power before terminating in a markedly bitter lemon rind and noticeably warm finale. This is very 2018 in style as one can "feel" the sunshine and a wine that is going to need at least some bottle age to better harmonize as it seems somewhat awkward at present. With that said, the track record of this wine is so good that I wouldn't care to bet against it rounding into form with a few years of keeping.'

5 x Roulot Meursault Les Tessons Clos de Mon Plaisir 1997
£200 per bt In Bond
90/100 Stephen Tanzer:'Lively, sweet aromas of lemon cream and orange peel, lifted by a oral quality. Ripe, intense citrus and oral avors are brightened by juicy acids. Shows more power than the Tillets and excellent sneaky persistence.'

It is a totally different shape of wine from the Chassagne-Montrachets we have been tasting. There is a hint of little red fruits here. Excellent length.'
