Armand Rousseau Chambertin 2005 (OCC/12)
Tasting Note
'The 2005 Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine Armand Rousseau flirts with perfection. There is stunning delineation on the nose. The precision and definition of the aromatics are like nothing else, revealing shimmering red berry fruit intermixed with rose petal and a hint of Morello cherry. The palate is a lattice of lace-like tannins, vibrating with energy and tension, but it's gentle in terms of grip and has a real weightlessness on the finish. There is incredible fruit concentration here—a heavenly Chambertin that could almost bring a grown man to tears. Tasted at the 05/15 Burgundy dinner in The Good Earth.'
