Bryan Deleu Condrieu Proeme 2022
Tasting Note
'As I mentioned last year, Bryan Deleu’s Condrieu “Proeme” is made from a pair of parcels in the appellation, with both plots planted to vines more than fifty years of age. The wine is raised in used demi-muids during its élevage and tips the scales at 13.5 percent octane. In the year since I last tasted a bottle, the wine has blossomed very nicely, offering up a wide open and generous bouquet of pear, passion fruit, a fine base of stony soil tones, coriander seed, lemon peel and plenty of Viognier musky floral tones in the upper register. On the palate the wine is crisp, focused and full-bodied, with fine depth of fruit at the core, a good foundation of minerality, bright acids and a long, complex and very nicely balanced finish. A fine example of Condrieu. 2025-2040.'
