Georges Roumier Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses 1988
Tasting Note
'The 1988 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has another otherworldly, ineffably complex bouquet with scents of blackberry, briary, redcurrant and wild hedgerow. It is utterly harmonious. The palate displays exquisite balance, perhaps edgier than the two Bonnes-Mares tasted either side. There is tremendous depth, a sense of faded sweetness after 33 years and slightly confit towards the finish with discrete Moroccan spice and notes of morels towards the long and satisfying finish. Irresistible. Tasted at the Roumier 1988 dinner at Noizé.'
