Julien Guillot Clos des Vignes du Maynes Bourgogne Rouge Cuvee Auguste 2019 (OCC/12)
Tasting Note
'Bright red with ruby tones. Aromas of cherry liqueur, leather and black olive. Plush, sweet and impressively concentrated, with terrific acidity giving the middle palate a penetrating quality. A real essence of funky black fruits. Finishes broad and long, with a saline complexity and totally buffered tannins. An excellent example of risky low-sulfur winemaking. This parcel was part of the same original purchase as Guillot-Broux's La Myotte, but these vines face more directly south.'
