'The 2009 Echézeaux is all about understated elegance. There is plenty of energy in the glass, but the 2009 is quite minimalistic at this stage. Today the wine is compact and closed in on itself, which is not at all a bad thing for readers rightly planning to let the wine develop in bottle. I very much like the focus and sheer power of the finish.'
