Ponsot Clos de la Roche 1998 Half
Tasting Note
'Juxtaposed against the ’97, the ’98 Clos de la Roche appears to have more vigour on the nose with wild strawberry, a touch of iron rust, dried blood and those captivating tertiary aromas that seem to become its leitmotif with age. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, great structure here…especially for a 1998. Tart red fruits on the finish, “spiky” tart red fruits with a dash of pepper on the masculine finish. This is a very fine Clos-de-la-Roche that would actually benefit from a couple more years in bottle.'
